Brush up on your Chinese

Brush up on your Chinese, because they are buying more of the united States debt. I’ve also seen articles where they are buying real estate. A lot of the west coast if feeling the influence from the Chinese. I’m not an world economical professor, but how the heck can they buy our debt like that? I would like someone to comment or contact me and explain this to me. Because this looks like it could set us up for either 1 of 2 things, China owning the united States or could potential break out into a war over lost assets. We already know there is a lot of tension between the two, even if the Prime Minister of China says their isn’t. So, someone help me understand.
